E' quella che il torturatore Aaron Guastavino Elvio left to his son, a legacy of terrible, a burden on his conscience, a beast that devours the dark psyche of the weak and timid gray middle-aged employee Elvio. Heritage without the possibility of redemption: the only solution will be accepted at the tragic final atonement, with the cancellation of their identity in the cumbersome and the subsequent death of his father.
E 'was reading the magazine Animals to encourage the purchase of The legacy of Colonel of Carlos Trillo author of the history and Lucas Varela responsible for the drawings. I had read two short stories published Trillo on two different numbers of the monthly comic, which I then spoke here, set during the dark years of dictatorship in Argentina.
I must say that this graphic novel hit me like a punch in the stomach. Not that I did not know the historical facts which constitute the theme of the work, but the representation of the horror that makes Trillo is very special and effective.
the evolution of the psychic upheaval Elvio, accompanied by his frequent flash-back/deliri which relives the terrible moments of childhood and adolescence when his father attended the torture against suspicions of political prisoners, Trillo draws us into a cesspool inhabited by horror and depravity. The more disruptive effect in the consciousness of the reader is assured by design that has suddenly grotesque, almost cartoonish at times, but that makes it even more the brutality of the acts and the subsequent pain.
admit that it has closed the book with some relief, because I've finally finished reading so hard and heavy. Trillo has hit the mark then, because I guess it was just what he wanted to provoke the reader, bumping deeply into his consciousness to remind him what was the Argentine dictatorship, which was the load of horror and death, what is the degradation that is hidden within man.
